So, Do You Know Who Frank Is?
For those of you who don’t know who Frank the Bunny rabbit is, then where have you been? Frank was a young boy who was seen in the first Donnie Darko film back in 2000. He appears in the movie throughout it’s entirety dressed in the freaky Halloween bunny costume, he appears only to Donnie when he is having a hallucinogenic moment.
Frank is first seem in the movie when Donnie is awoken in the middle of the night by the voice of Frank calling Donnie with the words “Wake up Donnie”. At that point in time we (the audience) doesn’t really know the true identity of Frank, no one knows that it’s actually a young boy from Donnie’s school.
Frank plays an integral part to the movie as the “manipulated dead” ( as described in “Robert Sparrow’s Philosophy of Time Travel”), he is key in helping Donnie to send the Aeroplane engine back from the Tangent Universe into the primary Universe. Donnie is the living receiver.
